What is Miss Dior?
Established nearly 80 years ago in Paris by French designer Christian Dior to create haute couture pieces, Dior has a global reputation as a multinational luxury brand. In 1947, the company launched its first fashion range for that year’s spring-summer season, the acclaimed New Look collection.
Today Dior is renowned for the quality of its materials, its craftmanship and mindfulness plus its exclusive products, which are elegant, sophisticated and capture the essence of femininity. After eight decades, the brand remains at the forefront of luxury fashion.
In 1947, Miss Dior became its first scent, after Christian Dior commissioned perfumer Paul Vacher to produce it. Along with colleague Jean Charles, Vacher was asked to devise a contemporary, elegant fragrance which ‘smelt of love’. The product was named after the designer’s sister Catherine, a French resistance fighter who was often called Miss Dior.
The perfume is a warm floral chypre with notes of leather and galbanum. The top notes also include mandarin, gardenia, and bergamot, with middle notes of jasmine, rose and narcissus as well as neroli plus oak, sandalwood, and patchouli among the base notes.

And there is a focus on carefully chosen natural ingredients. Expect top notes of Calabrian bergamot and pepper, alongside middle notes including lavender, pink and Sichuan pepper plus geranium. These combine with base notes including cedar and labdanum.
